Surprise the World with a Smile

Friend

Last Saturday night around 3:00 a.m. I woke up because of a loud noise coming from my neighbor's apartment followed by an awful cry out for help. The scream got me nailed to the ceiling! I never heard anyone cry out for help in my life before but this sounded if her life was taken from her. I called the police and they came 30 minutes later.
I spent 10 minutes not knowing what to do or who to call. There was a killing silence and the only thing I could think of was to pray. Psalm 91 was the one that came to my heart. I had no idea if the woman was killed or raped, pffff...But then I heard voices and I saw her running to the street. The police came and apparently her crazy boyfriend attacked her and I just happened to be the only witness. She was moving out and Saturday was her last night in the apartment. The police arrested both of them since they had previous charges against each other. The guy moved out several weeks ago and had a restraining order.

They moved last year sometime in November and one night I was studying with the windows open since it was great weather. She came cussing and yelling about who the moron was that had her tire on the white line of the parking place...That was the first violent incident with her. The second one, she and her boyfriend scratched my newly leased car and left ugly marks on them. I had no rest and peace knowing that they were vandalizing my property and I could not prove it. For months I struggled with my anger and impotence of getting justice. The spirit kept reminding me to pray for my enemy and to leave justice in the hands of God.
The night that she cries out for help, I happened to be the only one who called for help. The lights went up in the other apartments but no one called 911. Now it seems that I have to testify on an ongoing court case as a witness of what I heard. I did not have time to think when I called to say that I wanted to be anonymous, I just wanted to feel safe and have the police at my front door. The irony is that I called for help fearing the worst for a person in need and they were both arrested before my eyes.

If I tell you this story it is to give you the big picture of a real story on what means to trust that our Lord will bring justice to all those who hurt us or do us wrong. It also helps to fear God and to keep us from hurting others or do wrong to others. Justice from God is impartial, he will bring justice always. Sometimes we are victims but other times we are the abusers. Hardships could either trials or punishment of our wickedness and selfishness actions.

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, "The LORD is my refuge," and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; Psalm 91:8-11
This is the holy word of God

Keep me in your prayers as I don't want to testify in court..
