Commit to the LORD whatever you do,

Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
These are very familiar verses to us and we read them fast and memorizing them. But is it true perhaps that we do not grasp each word in every verse? Read the same verse in different translations, observe the slight differences:

1. For the joy set before him NIV

1. Who for the joy that was set before him ESV

Now see a translation in another language:

1.el cual por el gozo puesto delante de él sufrió la cruz RVR 1995

So, after this exercise:

1.What is the joy set before Christ to endure the cross?

Christmas Tree tradition

Is this true or false?

The Romans celebrated the winter solstice with a fest called Saturnalia in honor of Saturnus, the god of agriculture. They decorated their houses with greens and lights and exchanged gifts. They gave coins for prosperity, pastries for happiness, and lamps to light one's journey through life.
