Friday July 8, 2012

Greetings!

It is Friday, yeah!!!
I thank God for Fridays and for all that he did throughout the week. It is amazing to see God at work through prayers, through friends, through sports and through our church.

As the weekend sneaks in and we get ready to spend time recreating, we must be aware that we are constantly being part of the Culture, the work environment culture, the entertainment culture, the arts culture, the sports culture.....or is it just one general cultures with different worldviews? What is your culture? What is the culture of those around you and how does that influence you?

Why don't we ask the people around us today and make conversation out of that question, pick their thoughts and see if they know at least one verse. Lets take the opportunity to share Christ, make it a mini mission journey at work or at home.

It is always good to define who we are and check our worldview so that we do not compromise our convictions but we remain faithful to the one who gave his life for us and rose from the dead, Jesus Christ!

I pray we all have a fruitful and creative weekend!

 Blessings

How a pursuit of relevance can undermine authentic community.By www.Relevantmagazine.com

People sometimes assume that because I'm a progressive 30-year-old who enjoys Mumford and Sons and has no children, I must want a super-hip church-you know, the kind that's called "Thrive" or "Be," and which boasts "an awesome worship experience," a fair-trade coffee bar, its own iPhone app and a pastor who looks like a Jonas brother.

While none of these features are inherently wrong (and can of course be used by good people to do good things), these days I find myself longing for a church with a cool factor of about 0.

Read the article here and defend your point of view, it is a challenge. We all ought to have an opinion, stand for what we believe and that stereotype is not always right, or is it?
