In the beginning
9And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
11Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13And there was evening, and there was morning-the third day.
Genesis 1:9-13
When an artist is painting they first line out the painting. If it is a landscape, you define the borders of the sky, the horizon of the sea and you kind of set what your ground is going to be like because a landscape cannot float. After the line out, you do for the details. Is it a landscape in the mountains? or is it a landscape at the river? after the artist paints the first tree, he usually takes a step back and comes back to set the details, the tone of the leaves. If it is early spring painting the leaves should be bright green, if the painting is a fall painting the colors of the leaves will be red, gold and copper colors. Like the video I shared with you two weeks ago about the landscape and the beautiful nature, that is how God brought life to this formless place called our world.
In the same way, God came along and gave me a new life. In my new life, I get brand new days to plant seeds; seeds of love, biblical love into my relationships. Some days I am good at it, some days I suck big time at it. this verse teaches that when we are at work, we should take a moment and make sure that what we are doing is good before we continue. In this way we make sure that we are striving to deliver the best at the end of the day and bring it to Christ with joy and not with shame.
My work load is nothing compare to what God accomplished in his 8-5pm working day. the Bible says he did all that and then there was evening. It is now morning time of the third day, we have until the evening to do something good of this opportunity, lets get started!
