give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will
which of you Fathers, if your son ask dor a fish, will give give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11:11-13

After I was three years old, our family moved to Mexico City. My father is a musician and he used to play with famous artist. Most of the time he was on tour with them. We saw our father every now and then. but when he was home he was always very caring to us. he would bring us presents and brings us to the theater, the zoo, movies, the park and show us the stars with his telescope. He was the best daddy ever! Until I became a teenager....=] Tom Davis, did not know his dad until he was seventeen. So his view about God the Father was a bit hard to understand. it took him sometime to understand the bond between a Father and his son. Sure enough he pursuit the relationship between him and his heavenly Father and found the purposed for his life. in his heart God place the title: "Field of the Fatherless". This journey got him to know God's heart and to also find out who were the people God had a special place in his heart. The orphan, the widow and the stranger. In an interview it was mentioned that single mothers qualify as widows since they have no man to care for them. And orphans were also those who lack a father in their home. in chapter one, Davis highlights that we can all make a difference. There are 143 million orphans around the world. That equals to 143 million fathers that are absent in their homes, either by death or pure abandonment. We can all make a difference in the life of a child, beginning with prayer. 143 million children you have never seen, they are unprotected, hungry and no one to love on them. check out this website: http://www.hopechest.org/engage/ |
