Hurricane Season-During the Storm
38Then he said to them,"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Couldn't you men keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. 41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:38-41
-Take your emergency kit and disaster supplies with you if you move from room to room -Use flashlights, not candles or kerosene lamps, as your light source. -Fight the temptation to go outside during the "eye of the storm". There's only a brief period of calm before hurricane force winds return. These are real Hurricane preparedness instructions. Read more information http://www.miamidade.gov/hurricane/ Some hurricanes we cannot avoid, they will just come over us. Disaster= foreclosure, bankruptcy, divorce, loss of of a loved one, domestic violence; you name it. Christ gave us the example on how to face a storm of magnitude. He himself had a bitter cup he asked his father to be taken from him but not his will but the will of the Father. So during the storm don't leave your praying, don't get distracted with the high and force winds. Remain focused. If we lose total power, we will be weak and experience darkness (Psalm 23:4), have no fear, our Lord Jesus Christ is our light, he is with us. Don't let your guard down when things look calm, things are not what they seem sometimes and if we do not continue in prayer, we might fall in temptation and our enemy in the form of arrogance and fury will come to stir up anger and bitterness. Christ taught us to have self control and above all to love not to hate; and to pray and care when we cannot love. Join me in writing the name of our 2011 storms and lets bring them before the Lord. |
