A matter of perspective
In the course of time, David inquired of the LORD. "Shall I go up to one of the towns of Judah?" he asked.
The LORD said, "Go up. David asked, "Where shall I go?" "To Hebron," the LORD answered. 2 Samuel 2:1 Tuesday: 2 Samuel 1:14-16 - David Hears of Saul's Death Wednesday: 2 Samuel 2:1 -David Anointed King Over Judah Yesterday I wrote about David the anointed one. The verse was mentioning the death of Saul, the anointed one. It was not about David. David was also an anointed king, selected by God. How can we know that the very person who is persecuting us is not another anointed one? Saul wanted David killed. How can that be? Fear, insecurity, unstable spiritual life that brings jealousy, envy and doubt in God our Lord. How did David manage not to kill Saul when he had the chance. How did David know what to do or where to go? I believe that his character was the key. He was dedicated to God and his fellowship was like that of a Father and son. That inspires me to seek out and study his character and it has been of great help. During prayer David just felt confident to ask God questions and he was specific about them. Do we ask God questions or do we question God when we do not understand what God "seems" to be saying or instructing because we don't like what he places in our paths? What direction will you ask for today? |
