The passion of our Christ

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it Matthew 16:24-25
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30

About this email
|
Every day the sun comes up, whether we are ready or not. In a day we take many decisions and the time frame to evaluate each one is very short. It is my conviction that we always have enough choices but that it is more important to know what the consequences are of each action and decisions we make. Every day I write a journal entry on the topics that I personally struggle with. I share my challenges, trials, joy, sorrow and the lessons learned with my friends. Not one day goes by without praising my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his wisdom and grace. My messages are to honor my Lord and be a witness of his endless love. This love is available for all of us.

Today I celebrate God's grace.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

Monday: Jesus began his ministry Tuesday: Jesus calls his first disciples Wednesday: Jesus teaches his disciples(us) how to pray Thursday: Jesus shows his disciples(us)how to love Good Friday: Jesus shows servant hood, picks up his cross and walks to his dead, our salvation.
Praise the Lord for this Good Friday. Jesus taught us many things but what is still always amazing and incomprehensible is that he obeyed till the dead. He models to us what it means to deny ourselves. He could have claimed his divine status and not gone through the death, yet he chose to be God's servant. He was beaten with barbaric weapons, he was all a wound. No part of his body was without a bruise or blood. Then, he carried his cross throughout the city to the be crucified. He was in pain, his human body was weak and bloody. People had no compassion, people mocked him...I rejected him, I did not want to listen to him, I denied him,I did not obey his commands, I did lie before him, I sinned in so many ways...until I realized that I was not better than the people 2011 years ago. I was the multitude and I was a sinner who lived in darkness. My world turned around when I accepted Christ, the more I read about him, the more I love him. The more I hang out with him, the more I wish to share his love with you and anyone else who wants to know more about him. Through my trials, through my pain, through my disappointments, through my sorrow; I have learned from Christ, how to pick up my cross and walk. I also learned that when I fall, the Lord always brings a person to help me carry the cross. God provides the strength to carry on... On Good Friday, Jesus picked up his cross and fulfilled God's will. The invitation is for us to take his yoke and to learn from him. Will you accept him and follow him?
28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."Matthew 11:28

Trust in the word of God, this is what the Lord said about his word in Isaiah 55:11 "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
God bless you,
