"Now that summer is ending and school is starting, I can get back into my usual routine." I've heard that a lot the last few weeks. As you reestablish your "routines," it's a perfect time to create one that schedules time ...wait for it...for you!

Lessons from LeAnn Schedule Time for You!

Often we are so busy packing lunches, driving kids, punching in, attending meetings, caring for others...whew!...we hardly have time to care for ourselves. As we establish our fall schedules, let's commit to taking time to CARE4ME.

 

In simple brief 15-minute increments, schedule time to:

  • eat a nutritious meal and snacks
  • walk down the block, take the stairs, get some exercise
  • take a break...a real one, rest a bit
  • breath deeply, slow and relaxed for 3-4 minutes, 3-4 times a day
  • smile a lot; laugh 400 times a day like kids do
  • forgive someone (you know who it is)
  • pray, meditate, connect with your Higher Power

If we spend just 15 minutes on each of the above self-care activities, it totals only 1½ hours in a 24 hour day.  Surely we have time for that. And absolutely, we deserve it. Taking time to CARE4ME makes us strong in body, mind and spirit. We are happier, healthier, more patient and focused. This state of being allows us to fulfill our calling, to competently and compassionately care for others...and ourselves.
