WINE TALK
Traditionally, wine was never stored standing up. Keeping the wine on its side kept the wine in contact with the cork, thereby preventing the cork from drying, shrinking, and letting in air. However, wine can be stored vertically if the bottle has an artificial cork.

To Officially Re-brand as
"Lake Erie Wine Country"
You may have noticed that the Chautauqua Lake-Erie Wine Trail has lately been referred to as "Lake Erie Wine Country." With the launch of our new website in the next week or so, we will officially change our name to "Lake Erie Wine Country."
We'll let you know as soon as our exciting, new website is up and running. You'll find it at www.lakeeriewinecountry.org. New name, new logo, same unique wineries and high-quality wines in a gorgeous grape-growing region along the shores of Lake Erie.

 Harvest Wine WeekendsReap Smiles & Good Times
More than 1,200 people traveled to Lake Erie Wine Country in November to enjoy our Harvest Wine Weekends.
Ticket holders set their own agenda and visited wineries to taste wine and food samples, shop in the unique gift shops and enjoy friends and the beauty of Lake Erie Wine Country. As with all of our ticketed events, participants received a free gift, a Lake Erie Wine Country wine glass, a recipe booklet and a $5 voucher for wine or food at participating restaurants. |

Our wineries will be clearing the tanks and barrels to prepare for 2011 releases. Find the bargains and stock up on your favorite wines.
WINE & CHOCOLATE WEEKEND
February 4th, 5th & 6th
Calling all lovers! This Valentine's treat is especially for you. Wineries will pair their own splendid chocolate creations with a delightful wine accompaniment. A perfect match! Sponsored by Dove Chocolate Discovery.
Tickets are $35 each and include a wine glass, recipe booklet, a unique gift and wine and food samples at each of the participating wineries. Ticket holders will provide their own transportation and set their own agenda, visiting the wineries in any order.
New for 2011, we have added Fridays to our special event offerings. Hours for the weekend are: noon - 5 p.m. on Friday, February 4; 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, February 5 and 6.
