At 9:30 am, before the 11:00 am service, Pastor Jeff is going to share pictures and reflections from his recent pilgrimage to Palestine with Bright Stars of Bethlehem.
He is providing a light breakfast of Palestinian foods. Come at 9:30 am and share food, coffee, pictures, and stories from the Holy Land.

 Come and See - Palestine | |
 "Come and see!" It was a phrase we heard from many people on our delegation to the Holy Land. Come and see the sites that are sacred to Muslims, Christians, and Jews.
You too can come and see! Come early on Sunday, August 19 (9:30 am before our 11 am liturgy) to hear stories, see slides, and continue a conversation about ways in which we might accompany these sisters and brothers in the months and years ahead.
Pr Jeff will provide a light Palestinian breakfast!

 Thursday at 9:00 pm, the Sanctuary will be covered with our Labyrinth. Come for walking meditation, great music, and snacks and welcome students back to Cal!
9 pm til midnight!

Welcome back students!
Next Thursday we kick off the fall semester with our giant Labyrinth Walk (see above).
After that we have a new campus ministry, our Magnificat Thursdays, Sacred Stories - Ancient Ritual.

 Cal Performances are starting up soon with many exciting events! Theater, Jazz, World Stage, Early Music, Philharmonica Orchestra and much, much more. Check out the billboard in the sanctuary and sign up for the events you would like to go to. If we get a group of 5 or more, it's a party! We'll meet for dinner and then go to the event together. |
| Faith, Youth & Immigration Conference |
 Join us for FYI: Faith, Youth & Immigration Conference 2012!
This is a one-day conference of high school through college age young people (ages 14-25) to connect their stories of migration and identity, and learn how spirituality can be an instrument for immigrant justice and social change. |

 Animated! Thought-provoking? Hilarious? All of the above! We used the new "Animate" faith formation DVDs to test our new visual system and all had trouble going back to our desks this week! As much as we laughed - almost throughout the entire video - we were also captivated. Stay tuned for the dates for our fall adult study classes. You don't want to miss them! |
