Third Sunday of Easter
April 2012

This Sunday we hear another story of Jesus' appearance after his resurrection. To encounter Jesus here and now, come to worship--to hear the word, to eat with him, and to connect with his body of believers.

It is also Earth Day, a day on which we praise God for God's good creation and reflect on how we can be good stewards of the world in which we live.

Prayer List

Think about starting a "practice of praying" for the Chapel this week -- around the table before a meal, before bedtime, in the morning as you prepare to depart for a busy day. Use this list and remember those in need. We invite your prayers for:

For Pastor Jeff and all who gather in New York for the PROCLAIM retreat

For Maura, who broke her leg and is recovering

For Troy, who is in jail

For David as he begins chemotherapy

For Charlie and Ray, who are living with terminal cancer diagnoses, and for their families and supporting communities

For Don, baby Annabelle, Joyce, Duane as they deal with illness and recovery

For spouses, marriages, and partnerships; especially in the difficult times

For our confirmands, Lee and Matt

For Chapel children and their families

For our DREAMERS, Nico, Jonatan, Raymi, Lucas, Jose, Alex and their newest member, Veronica.

For all who are looking for work

For all who are in transition or discernment

For those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries

Interview with Vy in the SF Gate

Vy says he is "just a regular guy who always wanted to learn to play the accordion but only ever mastered the flute", but he also mastered many challenges as the assistant regional director for Church World Service with his office at the Chapel.

In light of the Crop Walk next week Vy  was interviewed and featured in the SF Gate. Take a look and learn about Vy's life, his work, and his vision for the future.
