One Starry Night

A tale written and directed by Kathy Gee

This year's Advent Play came about with a gift that I received from Nancy Nielson.  Not long after our last Advent Play she handed me a children's book by Ted Stieger.  I read "The Fourth King" with delight, and I started to think..... hmmm, if there was a fourth king who gets delayed and delayed on his way to see the baby Jesus, maybe there could have been some lost shepherds and a wandering lamb also, and maybe, just maybe, a sort of mixed up little angel.  And that's how A Starry Night was born. Hope you enjoy it!

Casey's next step in preparation...
Our thoughts and prayers are with Casey as he takes the next step in his preparation for ministry.

Casey Tinnin spent three months teaching English at a school for slum children during the summer before his senior year of college and recently found out that there is a Lutheran Seminary in Bangalore.  So he has decided to spend his last semester of Seminary attending Untied Theological College in Bangalore India.  Casey will be there from January 4th until April 8th. He will be taking courses on Dalit Hermeneutics and sexuality within Indian culture.  Casey's thesis for his program will be on coming out as a spiritual practice for all people.

Please keep him in your prayers as he continues to take courses and reconnects with his friends that he shared life with when he lived there previously.

Have you seen these ads on BART
The "Be on our side" ads which have appeared on the Internet last October, finally showed up in the Bay Area on BART thanks to our friends at Northern California Friends of Sabeel who are paying for the first small run of three ads in high traffic stations-Downtown Berkeley, 12 St.  Oakland, and SF Civic Center.

The ads went up on December 5th and will run for four weeks. For more information on the campaign, visit Be on our side.  This campaign seeks an end to the escalating cycle of violence between Israel and Palestine and an end to US military support which underwrite this conflict.
