come. sit. stay. play!

Happy New Year 2012!!!

We had a great year in 2011. We are so grateful for all the new dogs we have gotten to know and all the dogs who continue to come stay with us year after year. In 2012 Metro Dog Walks will be expanding our at-home services for house sitters, neighborhood walks and off-leash park trips. The Metro Dog Academy will be working closely with Metro Dog Walks to offer training walks and  drop-in training. At Metro Dog we will be expanding our train-to-stay and custom day care programs. We are always looking for new ways to stay true to our mission to provide the best program for each dog.

Winter is Tick Season

Make sure to double check your pets, especially if they go to the parks. We make every effort to find and remove ticks from the dogs after they go to the park, but the ticks are tiny and we might not get them all. Tick preventatives like Frontline will kill the tick after it has bitten the dog but prevent the tick from getting in the dog.

Reservations

The holiday rush is over and with it the need for payment to secure reservations. We usually have space for drop-in day care or boarding for our regular social group guests. If your dog needs its own room or is in our Custom Daycare or Private Daycare programs, you will need to continue making reservations. If you want your dog to get a particular service like park trips or baths, making reservations helps us plan ahead to be sure we can accommodate your dog on that day.

Because we carefully arrange our playgroups there are times when we are full for one size or energy level but still have room for others. Please understand that this is to ensure that each dog in our care is receiving the services it needs.

Daycare reservations will be held until 10AM unless you specify a later check-in time.

If you have a Boarding Reservation we will hold your place for all the dates in your reservation and turn away dogs without reserved spots. Please be considerate and cancel if your plans change and please make sure your dates are correct.

Metro Dog Walks

for all your pets

Social Daycare and Boarding are great for the dogs who want to play all day with new dogs. But for many dogs, especially as they get older, a good hike followed by a nap on the couch at home is what they really want. For these dogs and their cat, bird , rabbit or reptile housemates we offer reliable and dedicated walkers and house sitters to care for each individual individually. Our care providers are insured and bonded. They come to your home while you are at work or out of town. For information or to schedule services email [email protected]

Metro Dog Walks offers:

Group trail Hikes - Up to 6 dogs hike in the East Bay hills for 60 minutes with a permitted and credentialed dog walker.

Private Neighborhood Walks - An experienced walker can take your dog or dogs for a 30- or 60-minute leashed walk.

Drop-in visits - 30-minute house visits for puppies or old dogs who cannot go on walks for potty and companionship, medications or any other midday need. Drop in care is also available for cats, birds or other non-canine companions.

Pet/House Sitters - House sitters provide regular walks, feeding and clean-up in the evening when they arrive and then 12 hours of companionship with feeding and care again in the morning before they leave. Additional walks or visits can be arranged during the day. The rates are per night. We do not charge per pet.
