This year’s Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce Annual American Indian Scholars Gala saw more attendees than ever before and raised $6,000 for student scholarships. Dances With Wolves actor Rodney A. Grant emceed, while Many Moccasins Dance Troupe and Many Winds Music, Inc. provided entertainment.

More than 350 people attended Clínica Tepeyac’s 16th Annual Fundraiser Fiesta at the PPA Events Center in Denver, and they raised $25,000 plus an additional $80,000 in sponsorships. Solera National Bank sponsored the event.

It might be difficult to believe that a young man from a farm town with fewer than 3,000 people would end up with a high-powered career in finance and investment banking. But, it was Jeff Halverson’s upbringing in Barnesville, Minn., and the sense of community he developed there that actually inspired his career.
