Happy 4th of July!
In June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle signed a resolution that would declare our independence from Great Britain.
The Continental Congress voted in favor of independence on July 2nd, and two days later its delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, which was drafted by Thomas Jefferson.
From 1776 until today, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of our American independence, with typical festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.
All of us at GEN-TECH wish thank you for your continued patronage as we celebrate the traditions of this patriotic day together. |
