| Recital Special Numbers
Our recital is scheduled for June 26, 2010 pending final confirmation at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center - this location is a proud tradition we plan to continue.
This year the program will have some exciting new twists along with many proud traditions. We are looking for some help with "extra" numbers we will do throughout the shows - here are the exciting opportunities available:
Mother Daughter Number
Mother and Daughter pairs can sign up to particiate in this exciting number that will be choreographed by Ms Marie starting in March. This number is for dancer's 8 years and up with at least 1 full year of dance experience. In order to participate you must be signed up for recital, attend rehearsals, participate in both shows, and there will be a small cost to be determined for costumes. If you are interested you can start signing up for this on or after February 8th in the studio office. We have a LIMITED number of slots for this number and will be accepting people first come first serve so please sign up early.
Opening Number
As in the past, a portion of the opening number will be open to our student's at large. This year's requirements include that you be at least 10 years old, signed up for recital, can attend extra rehearsals starting in April, and have purchased (or will purchase) a recital t-shirt. Ms Marie will be choreographing this part of the opening number. If you are interested you can start signing up on February 1st in the office.
Cathy Tribute
We will be doing a short tribute to Ms Cathy and all her years of teaching - this number will have very limited spots and will be by invitation; if you are interested and want to be considered please let Mr Ron or the Office know no later than February 21, 2010. |
| What to take your training to the next level?
Consider trying out for Next Year's Dance Company... This year we have two different sides to company:
DANCE COMPANY is for those really serious about dance - these students rehearse several times a week and take as much as eight dance classes.
PERFORMANCE COMPANY is for those student's who want to advance their training but aren't able to commit to the same amount of time - these student's take no more than three hours of classes per week.
Both groups perform in public, go to conventions, competitions, and have access to more advanced training...
If you are interested we will be holding a special no charge ballet work shop starting in March (schedule to be announced) - this course will help you with your audition during the summer and is a great opportunity to get to work with Ms Asja. If you are interested please sign up in the office starting Monday February 1, 2010.
This workshop is ONLY for student's interested in auditioning for company. |
Competitions
Dance Company continues to do a GREAT job in the preparation for up coming competitions - Ms Ruby and I along with the teaching staff are VERY proud of the company member's and what they have been able to accomplish this year. In three short weeks, we will be attending our first competition of the new calendar year - if you have a moment please tell our company members to "Break A Leg" a way of saying good luck in the theater! |
