Northshore Schools Foundation

Thank you for answering the call!

Earlier this week, you received a phone call from one of our dedicated volunteers asking you to support the students of Northshore as a part of the Northshore Schools Foundation's annual All in for Kids Campaign.   Thank you for answering our call!

You indicated that you would like more information about our organization, so we are sending you this email to provide valuable information about our campaign.

The Northshore Schools Foundation raises funds and builds partnerships to support academic excellence and success for all Northshore students in alignment with district priorities.

Grants from the Foundation fund literacy efforts, learning support for children with learning challenges, music appreciation, board certification for teachers, English as a second language materials, financial management curriculum and more.

Your support means that we will be able to fund these and more valuable projects in the future.

Our 2012 Campaign will  focus on raising funds to support

the Northshore School District Career and College Readiness programs.   Our district is taking bold steps to prepare all our  students to be career and college ready and help our nation meet the very real and immediate challenges of economic development, student achievement, and global competitiveness. With an emphasis on real world, real life skills, the Career and College Readiness programs connect students to rigorous academics and meaningful training that will help them be successful in career or college.

The Foundation is investing in these efforts by supporting both advanced and disadvantaged learners at all grades with access to tools necessary to graduate ready to be successful in their futures.

If every family in the district invests $60,  we will be able to invest $720,000 in student education.

Northshore School District Grant Foundation

The more than 9,000 students in the Northshore School District will benefit from thousands of dollars being awarded to their schools and classrooms by the Northshore Schools Foundation (NSF).

During last Tuesday's school board meeting, NSF Director Carmin Dalziel and President Sherry Krainick presented a check for $80,100 to School Board President Julia Lacey and Superintendent Larry Francois.

"The Foundation exists to mobilize and support our students by ensuring they get the education they deserve, our parents expect and the workplace demands," said Dalziel. "We work to build partnerships between parents, community members and businesses that enhance the efforts of the district and that ultimately result in our students having the opportunity to achieve academic support and excellence in their lives."

The funds were raised during the 2011-12 school through numerous activities in events including the Phone-a-thon, Pour for Northshore, Light a Fire for Learning, Milk Money community change drive and other workplace giving and partnership events.

The $80,100 in funds were granted after a district-wide granting process which identified district needs that aligned with NSF's funding initiatives of Literacy; Advanced and Disadvantaged Learners; Teacher Excellence; Science, Technology, Engineering; and Enhancement Programming.

Funds from the grant will be directed to the Career and College readiness programs in the following areas: National Board Teacher Certification, Community Schools, Advanced Math Education and Healthy Youth/McKinney Vento students.
