A multifaith celebration with a time for sharing personal reflections about 9/11 and its aftermath, a candlelight march for interreligious cooperation, and a reception for community building. Sponsored by ORSL. All are welcome.

NPR Correspondent and Wiccan Priestess Margot Adler on Witchcraft, Vampires and the Environment
Thursday, 9/20, 7:30 pm, Hallock Auditorium
Margot Adler has been a correspondent for NPR for 33 years, covering New York City, as well as politics and culture. A practicing Pagan since 1972, and an elder in the Pagan movement, she is the author of "Drawing Down the Moon: Witches, Druids, Goddess Worshippers and Other Pagans in America," the classic study of modern earth religions and women's spirituality. She is also the author of "Heretic's Heart", a personal memoir of the 1960s and 70s and her own activism in the civil rights and free speech movements. She is currently writing a book about vampires and their popularity in our culture. Sponsored by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life.

Oberlin Community Day Festival Choir Call for Singers
The Oberlin Community will be celebrating its uniqueness and love for Oberlin on Saturday, September 29 from 1-4 pm in Tappan Square (Rain Date: October 6). The afternoon's many events will include free food samplings (provided by local restaurants along with Kendal and Bon Appetit), entertainment by the Oberlin High School Marching Band, Oberlin Conservatory Jazz Band, Oberlin Community Music School, Dance Diaspora, Taiko Drummers, Kendal Precision Lawn Chair Drill Team, readings by local poets and authors, bike raffles, bike safety instruction, a tour of trees in Tappan Square, and a community festival choir led by Mrs. Jessie Reeder. Mrs. Reeder will be holding rehearsals on Fridays, September 21 and 28 at 6:30 pm and on Sunday, September 23 at 4:30 pm at Rust United Methodist Church, 128 Groveland Street, parking lot entrance. Rehearsals will last one hour. Singers need not attend all three rehearsals but should attend at least one.
