9/11 Vigil, March & Celebration of Community

Sunday 9/11, 8 pm, Tappan Bandstand. Come together to remember the events of 9/11/01 and their aftermath, to challenge religious extremism of all kinds, and to affirm religious pluralism. We will start with an informal time of sharing thoughts and feelings, proceed with a candlelight march around Tappan Square, and conclude with a celebration of community at the Multifaith Center (68 S Professor St.). All are welcome. Sponsored by ORSL.

Take the ExCo on Religious Pluralism & Interfaith Engagement

This course is an introduction to the religious diversity of the United States and the concept of religious pluralism and we will examine various pathways and pitfalls in interfaith engagement. Modes of engagement will include service and social justice, friendship and hospitality, rituals, dialogue, and the arts. Readings will focus on increasing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The course will include field trips to local religious centers and projects as opportunities to practice interfaith engagement.
