SHOWERS, FLOWERS, AND FESTIVE FUN. Rain or shine, there's a lot going on this month. As always, our continually updated calendar puts you in touch with all sorts of activities for families with tots, teens and in between. Let us help you plan fun weekends or weekly activities and classes no matter where you're based. We pulled these samples from our CALENDAR. AROUND NEW ORLEANS Never a dull moment, here are a few highlights that stand out for April. Check out the Audubon Zoo's new COOL ZOO SPLASH PARK, which is sure to be a hit as the weather continues to heat up. The FRENCH QUARTER FESTIVAL, April 7-10 is always a treat and includes a children's stage for the tots to get funky. On Fri., Apr. 29, the ZOO TO DO FOR KIDS SPONSOR AND PATRON PARTY, 5 - 9pm inside the VIP Hospitality tent. NORTHSHORE On our Northshore, this weekend, Apr. 9, it's not too late to sign up for the 2011 ST. TAMMANY'S RELAY FOR LIFE. Get a group, camp out at Covington High School and celebrate surviors, remember those we have lost to cancer, and fight to end or cure cancer for future generations. Make a reservation to take a bunny and your little honeys to tea for Easter at Viannes' in Mandeville. They are hosting a PETER RABBIT TEA AND LAWN EASTER EGG HUNT on Apr. 17 and 23. On Apr. 22, the First Baptist Church of Covington invites everyone to FAMILY FUN NIGHT led by Kids Celebration from Oklahoma. Kids Celebration travels the country to play games with kids and families and are really funny to watch. This is also a good chance for information on the summer camps sponsored by the church. Admission is whatever you can afford. This is just a sample of the many things going on around the region. Check the KidsandFamilyOnline EVENTS calendar for festivals, as well as parenting classes, and ongoing activities for children from places such as Longue Vue, Chick-Fil-A, local libraries, and more! Reviews and articles are not paid solicitations and are original, independent content. But, as always, let them know you read about it in the Ponchy-Train Connection.
