Our site also has an extensive list of other family-related groups from classes and groups to activities and child care. If you've never checked any of this out, now's your chance. Take a look. You might find just what you need. Here are a few highlights:
Moms Club of Mandeville and Metairie-South offers support for today's stay-at-home mother interested in the world around her and wanting to involve her child(ren) in that world. Activities include playgroups, moms night out, community service, friendship, and support.
Fit Mom New Orleans and North Shore for mothers and their children six-weeks-old and older to stroll their way to losing weight and getting strong while socializing with other mothers.

St. Tammany Hospital Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parents, encourages optimal child development and enhances the wellbeing of the family through many classes and groups. Classes and groups are listed by date here.
GREATER NEW ORLEANS
Infancy to Independence offers chapters around the area that hold weekly meetings to give parents and their children the opportunity to make new friends while participating in art and nature projects, story times, family outings, educational lectures, mom's night out, date night and more.
The Parenting Center provides classes and group activities to parents to promote confidence and competence parenting to encourage optimal child development enhance the well-being of the family.

It's nearly universal that we all resolve to eat healthier in the new year. But picky kids and/or picky grownups can derail that idea.
Here's one idea that is a hit with kids. Grilled cheese with apples. The sweet/savory combo appeals to kids, but they won't know that the combo is actually GOOD for them! Adding cinnamon or any apple pie spices also works (if you've ever had apple pie in the northeast, it'll often come with a slice of cheddar).
