One Family Resolution That Can Really Make a Difference

There are many articles about resolutions you should make
as a family, but we'd like to make things simple and recommend just one. It's
such a good resolution, so effective in building your family's well-being, that
perhaps, in making this one resolution, other things will resolve themselves as
well.

Eat Dinner Together As a Family.
We realize that for busy families with multiple
schedules, this is easier said than done, but we've found that it's the one
thing that can do wonders for your entire household.
We know that this can be difficult when kids have after
school activities, parents work late, and other things in life get in the way,
but we've come up with three simple steps to help you make this happen.

Groups to Help Those Resolutions Stick
Sometimes, it's a lot easier to make changes when you have a partner. Programs designed for people with similar goals help you stick to your commitments in ways that doing it alone does not. Plus, it's always nice to go out and meet people.

We offer a comprehensive events calendar for many ongoing groups that gather on both sides of the Lake. Our site also has an extensive list of other family-related groups from classes, groups, activities, to child care. If you've never checked any of this out, now's your chance. Take a look. You might find just what you need. Here are a few highlights:
Moms Club of Mandeville and Metairie-South offers support for today's stay-at-home mother interested in the world around
her and wanting to involve her child(ren) in that world. Activities include playgroups, moms night out, community service, friendship, and support.
Fit Mom New Orleans and North Shore for mothers and their children six-weeks-old and
older to stroll their way to losing weight and getting
strong while socializing with other mothers.
On the North Shore St. Tammany Hospital Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parents, encourages optimal child development and enhances the wellbeing of the family through many classes and groups. Classes and groups are listed by date here.
Greater New Orleans Area Infancy to Independence offers chapters around the area that hold weekly meetings to give parents and their
children the opportunity to make new friends while participating in art
and nature projects, story times, family outings, educational lectures,
mom's night out, date night and more.
The Parenting Center provides classes and group activities to
parents to promote confidence and
competence parenting to encourage optimal child development enhance the well-being of the family.
