Greetings!
Welcome to the March issue of Park Life.
With Easter just around the corner it's time to dust off those summer clothes, find the suntan lotion and explore the New Forest.
There are plenty of events in the New Forest this April starting this weekend with the 'New Forest Marque' farm shop open days with cooking demonstrations and special offers followed by guided woodland walks with free entry to the New Forest Centre; the launch of 'A Date with Nature' at the Reptile Centre in Lyndhurst; the annual Greener Living Show at Sandy Balls Holiday Park and the National Park's open-art exhibition at the Red House in Christchurch.
If you are keen to get involved the New Forest Remembers - untold stories of WWII project is still looking for volunteers to record people's memories of the war and survey World War II structures and remains.
Find out more about how students from Ringwood School are hoping to 'Cook for the Queen' with local New Forest food to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee at Buckingham Palace.
There is also an opportunity to have your say. Defra (Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) is currently running a consultation on the governance of National Parks across England, read below to find out how to get involved.
Finally if you live in Hyde or the surrounding area the National Park Authority is consulting on the Hyde Village Design Statement.
