Park welcomes Forest consultation news

New Forest National Park Authority Chairman Julian Johnson has welcomed the news that a consultation on the future management of the Forest estate has been halted.

He had written to Ministers inviting them to the New Forest to learn more about the special nature of the area and hopes the meeting will still go ahead. Read more...

Wheelie good scheme for youngsters

 

Disability cycles

Young people with disabilities will soon have more opportunities to explore New Forest cycle trails thanks to a scheme organised by the New Forest National Park.

 

A range of specially-adapted trikes and tandems will soon be available.

Heritage help needed for World War II bid

 

D-Day remnants at Lepe

Spy schools, prisoner of war camps, secret airfield missions and thousands of evacuees in World War II changed the landscape of the New Forest and also the course of history.

 

Now the New Forest National Park is asking heritage organisations to help get a widespread archaeological project

off the ground.

New Forest coast comes to Lyndhurst 

 

diver in the SolentNational Park archaeologists and volunteers have been investigating the New Forest's dynamic coastline over 125,000 years.

 

The 'Coastal Detectives' exhibition celebrates the discoveries made. The exhibition is at the New Forest Centre, Lyndhurst, until 20 March.
