6th ANNUAL SINGATHON
Welcome once again to "the most famous Food Court in the world" at Seaway Mall in Welland! Chorus Niagara will hold its 6th annual Singathon on Saturday, February 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Local celebrity guests will take a turn on the podium under the expert instruction and guidance of our artistic director Robert Cooper. The Chorus will perform many crowd favourites and there are always surprises galore for everyone! Here is an excerpt from last year : Surprise Proposal. Joining us over the lunch hour will be the Chorus Niagara Children's Choir as well. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for our choir and without the generous support of the community we would not be able to bring you such inspiring music. You may support an individual chorister or the chorus as a whole by going to Canada Helps. If you are supporting an individual chorister, insert their name in the "message/instructions" box. You will receive your receipt immediately by e-mail. Hope to see you all on February 11th! |

WHAT OUR AUDIENCE IS SAYING...
 | | Bassoonist, Melanie Eyers plays the role of the donkey Sigusmund in Brother Heinrich's Christmas |
Chorus Niagara was thrilled to collaborate with the Niagara Symphony Orchestra for three performances on December 10 and 11, 2011 conducted by our own Robert Cooper. The audience was delighted by the carol singing, the active and fun participation, the dynamic narration of Barbara Budd in Brother Heinrich's Christmas, the return of soloist Stephanie Tritchew and the wonderful partnership of orchestra and chorus.
"Over many years we have known delightful Niagara Symphony Christmas concerts at Brock , but our experience with you and your wonderful conductor on December 10th was truly magical. Rapport between choir, orchestra and audience was outstanding and we want to thank you so much for an afternoon we shall cherish. Season's Greetings to you from two grateful members of the audience on that day. " |

News from... CHORUS NIAGARA CHILDREN'S CHOIR
 | | St. Barnabas Carol Concert |
Chorus Niagara Children's Choir enjoyed a warm and spirited end to 2011 with Sing We All Noel!, a benefit concert for St. Barnabas Anglican Church. The audience joined voices with the choir for several sing-along carols, and choristers shared their favorite holiday moments: "building snowmen; falling in the snow; sipping hot chocolate with marshmallows while watching Christmas movies; the colourful lights at night time; singing Christmas songs.. anywhere, anytime.. it doesn't matter because I just LOVE to sing" The choir began 2012 with the CNCC Overnight Retreat at Mount Mary Retreat Centre in Ancaster. Within an intensive 24 hour period, choristers learned several new songs, warm-ups, supported and cheered one another on in the CNCC Talent Showcase, and took part in theory, sight-singing and vocal technique workshops. Many thanks to our generous parent volunteers, and to Guy Cayen for his capable help with theory and sight-singing. CNCC looks forward to a busy 2012 term: performing with Chorus NIagara at the Singathon in February, participating in the Junior Treble Festival in Stratford in March, and our own CNCC concerts in February and May - happy New Year of singing to all!
CNCC choristers are ages 7 to 17. The only prerequisite is a love of singing! For more information, contact: |
