Traveling this Summer Overseas or out-of-State ?
|
Whether you are planning to travel overseas or just to another State, it makes sense to buy an inexpensive medical travel insurance. It is most likely that your primary insurance will only cover a fraction of any actual costs. Travel Insurance lets you avoid the hassle of having to translate the medical bills incurred in a foreign country . Travel insurance is especially important for Medicare Recipients, as Medicare does not cover medical expenses outside the United States.

| What's new in the Health Care Industry ? |
|
Are you turning 65 years this year? Blue Shield is offering a great incentive program to anyone who is new to Medicare Part B and is enrolling in a Medicare Supplement plan. Starting in August for the first 12 months the Medicare Rate will be reduced by $20 per month, adding up to a savings of $ 240 for the first year.
In July health insurance premiums will be rising, lock in your rate prior to 6/15 and you can still receive the lower premium rates from Anthem, Cigna and Aetna.

Last Sunday I met Dr. Cagigas from the UCLA Semel Institute at a health fair in Brentwood. The Semel Institute is conducting a research study of the genetic bases of memory and impulse control. The Institute is currently looking for healthy volunteers, especially those who are bilingual, and will reimburse the volunteers $15 per hour. To participate in this very important study contact LA2K Project at 310-983-5225 .
