Never Up Set the CA Insurance Commissioner ...

By now Anthem must have learned their lesson not to upset the CA-Insurance Commissioner. Although Anthem has submitted their new health care reform compliant rates by
the end of June, only 5 out of 43 plans have been approved. New Business for individuals at Anthem has been at at a stand still for six weeks. Anthem's competition such as Blue Shield, Healthnet and Kaiser could not be happier. Blue Shield just announced that there is no rate guarantee for any application submitted after October 1st.
With all this "fiasco" the consumer gets actually short changed. There is less competition and "non-rate guarantee plans" are really unacceptable. Why wasn't it mandated that all individual new insurance plans should have been switched to be compliant starting September 23, as they did for all new group plans. How does a consumer know, if the new plan is a "grandfathered" or "non grandfathered plan"?
I wonder why there is actually no press article about this.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

 Lung cancer is responsible for almost 1/3 of all cancer deaths in the U.S. Among women, lung cancer is responsible for more cancer than breast and allgynecological cancers combined.
