Active Named Storm Forecast for 2012

According to the NOAA, Federal Forecasters predict anywhere from 9 to 15 named storms to form this season and 4 to 8 hurricanes and of those 1 to 3 will become major hurricanes (with top winds of 111 mph or higher, ranking Category 3, 4 or 5).

The NOAA's Climate Prediction Center says there's a 70 percent chance of 9 to 15 named storms of which 4 to 8 will strengthen to a hurricane.
