Deadly Tornadoes Continue

This week's deadly severe weather throughout the Midwest, along with last month's wave of tornadoes across the South, has left many members of the NACA family and their loved-ones in need.

In an effort to share information, we have set up a resource page on our website to help those institutions directly impacted by the storms, as well as their communities.

We encourage all members of our NACA community to contribute in any way that they can to support this or other relief efforts. Please visit the resource page at http://naca.ws/luUi0R

Social Media: The Drop & Run Approach
Social media is everywhere, and it's confusing.  Twitter & Facebook are the must-haves, Myspace is still kind of, sort of around until a new leader in music profile sites emerges, and newer sites like Formspring, Tumblr and Quora are, however temporarily, starting their ascent up the popularity ladder. Here's my advice on how to best use the incredible time-saving devices out there to post your info in multiple places simultaneously.

10 Year-Old Book Still Inspiring New Generation of DIY Artists

Published in 2001 - long before the internet disrupted the music industry as we knew it - the book "Our Band Could Be Your Life" provided a history lesson of what could loosely be called punk rock by sharing the stories of a dozen bands who found a reasonable level of success without any help from major record labels. A decade later, a number of young musicians are finding inspiration and sound advice there.
