What has the CKCA and Crown King been up to? |
- Attention Sponsors: Your business sponsorships are set to expire soon.
Please contact Meara to obtain stats regarding your advertisements and
to renew your sponsorship. Also as an added feature to promote
newsletter readership, we would like to include coupons for your
business in each newsletter. The cost is $10 per monthly
newsletter for bottom placement, or for $20 it can be placed anywhere within the newsletter.

Upcoming Events
Good news! The businesses & associations of Crown King have come together to create the 2010 Event Calendar. This calendar is for the entire community! In fact, it is our goal this year to ensure that all businesses and associations work in sync to make each event a success! Please contact us if there is a community event that needs to be added to the webpage. You can access the calendar here

- October 2nd: Great new events: Oktoberfest will be added to the Apple Festival. The
biggest event this town has ever seen! Look for more info on
www.crownkingca.org and please contact us to volunteer, set up craft
booth, etc.

Great New Events To Attend This Year
- Sunday School at the Crown King Community Church. Welcome to all children! Drop kids off for an hour of singing, crafts, and bible lessons.

draft of the Recreation Strategy Vision, Goals and Strategies (if you
have any additional feedback at this stage, please let us know) Here's a quick overview of what's ahead. Please RESPOND to the doodle below! September 27-30 Zone level strategy prioritization meetings with zone leadership teams with initial planning on priority strategies -
Area
wide coordination team meeting - priority strategy integration and
sequencing and coalition planning (this group would likely transition
into the coalition steering committee)
October Community
meetings to share the vision, priority strategies, and emerging
recreation coalition. Participants will be encourage to go to
strategy/topic of interest to share feedback, sign up to get involved,
etc.
First action planning meetings by strategy level teams
November-December Action planning and the start of implementation (depending on the strategy)

Great news! The Crown King Road Maintenance Association has
a new website! You will now be able to
learn more about our Road Maintenance Association, and pay online for
your annual dues, donations, and events.
You
will all be receiving the annual CKRMA request for dues soon in the
mail. Most of you are already contributing - but others are not. Please
take the time to discuss CKRMA with your neighbors and those who you
know are not contributing and try to convince them of the need to
support the CKRMA. Also, coming up:
1) Crown King Foreplay (formally known as Crown King Golf
tournament) will be held September 25. Please talk to Tommey Burke or Lisa
Varney or check the new CKRMA webpage for registration information.

locals have known of a secluded area near Horsethief called Coal Camp.
It was recently taken down. A local photographer, Tabatha with My Photo Dreams is now selling signed and matted limited edition prints (photo
shown below) in a series of 50 for us to continue to enjoy for years to
come.
