What has the CKCA and Crown King been up to? | - Membership: We ended 2009 with 162 members, so far in 2010 we are up to 88.
We are now accepting dues for 2010 fiscal year. $10 per person. Mail form and checks (or cash) to Crown
King Community Association, PO Box 176, Crown King, AZ 86343, or drop off at the
General Store. You can download a form here or they are available at the General Store. Questions? Email Peg Martin or call her at 928-632-5484.
- The Crown King Community Survey is still open! Many of you have opened
but not completed your surveys. Remember that everybody in your household who is a CKCA member can
complete the survey. Please contact Meara if you did not receive one or
if it ended up in your Spam/Junk mailbox.
- The purpose of the survey is to gather data from all property owners and all permanent residents of the Crown King Community.
We
need the data so we can have a record of what issues or concerns exist
in our community. After the survey we will categorize the responses and rate the issues on importance. The data at this point can then be used to meet with County, State or Forest Service departments.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AND RESIDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THIS SURVEY!

Person of the Month
|
Tim Pepper is a relatively long-standing sloper in Crown King who is joined by his lovely wife and daughter, Colleen and Brenna on weekend excursions to their place in the pines. Tim has been instrumental in working on behalf of the CKCA membership to develop not only our website but to create our emailing, polling, and data gathering system. Clearly a daunting and time consuming task to say the least. However, Tim has graciously given of his time and expertise on a continuing pro-bono basis. Had it not been for Tim's efforts, our association's foundational means of communication would be nowhere near the point that it is today. Tim continues to work very closely with our Communications Liaison, Meara Perrin in getting the CKCA newsletter out on time each month as well as maintaining and updating our significant email database. Next time you see Tim, please give him a round of applause. On behalf of the entire CKCA, we would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to this month's Person of the Month, Tim Pepper.

We
now have two new businesses here in Crown King operating out of the back room
at the Prospector Mall - Nice Cream Ice Cream and Doozy's Bakery. After close to a year of going through the
permit and approval processes with Yavapai County, both endeavors are in full
swing. They both are ever so grateful
for the help of so many folks who helped them get things set up and running. Read more about Nice Cream Ice Cream and Doozy's Bakery here!

Crown King Phone Book
|
Crown King School is
in the process of updating information for the upcoming 2010 Crown King
telephone book. You can contact the school at crownkingschool@yahoo.com with new
phone numbers for the white pages.
We also are selling
space for the yellow page ads. A full page is $50, half page $25, and a
quarter page for $15. A full page measures 4" X 6" and a
quarter page is about the size of a business card. Please contact us for
further information.
The children use the
proceeds from the phone book to fund field trips, pay for props for plays and
other extracurricular activity expenses.
We would like to
take this opportunity to thank all our friends and neighbors in the community
for their continued support.
