The Work Opportunity Tax Credit

 

This is the second article in our tax credits series. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) was a federal tax credit designed as an incentive to employers to hire individuals in certain targeted groups. These groups have consistently experienced high rates of unemployment due to a variety of employment barriers. The WOTC applies only to new employees and only first-year wages. Read more...
