Welcome Spring!
Hey yall! Well, spring has certainly sprung in Florida! What an absolutely beautiful season. The air is fresh, the colors are brilliant, and the smells... oh the smells of orange blossoms that fill the air!!! Wish you were here to enjoy it with me. As I think about spring time I always think about planting season. Growing up in north Alabama, we had a big vegetable garden every year. I really didn't do much of the planting, as that was always done by my Daddy and Grandmother. But I always knew that in a few short months my own work would be ready! The hoeing, the picking, the shelling... my summer months were filled with freezing and canning for the winter to come. You better believe there was lots of murmuring and complaining going on! But in the winter when I was enjoying homemade vegetable soup, corn, peas, peaches and apples, all the whining gave way to lip smacking yums!!!

The Error Of Ultimate Reconciliation

Over the last couple of years I have become increasingly concerned about something that could potentially damage the wonderful, life-changing message of grace and peace. At our February conference I talked briefly about the doctrinal error of Ultimate Reconciliation, also called the doctrine of inclusion. Prior to the conference I was so concerned about this that I asked Jim Richards to sit down and talk with me in front of a camera so we could blow the lid off of this erroneous message. If you attended the conference you were given the Ultimate Reconciliation (Inclusion) DVD. (Hopefully you have by now watched it and passed it on.)
As I was preparing to write an article for our e-letter, I was once again stirred by this. I started to write an article on the subject but instead decided to use an article that Jim wrote after we taped our conversation. You may have already read Jim's article but I want to encourage you to read it again and pass on to others. It answers a lot of questions and will help you head off accusations if and when you are accused of the same.

A Change In Destiny
by Leland Hayden
Hey Allen and Janice,
You guys have been such a blessing to Connie and me, and to our church, that it would take more than this letter to express it. Long before SafeHarbor existed, you and Bro. Jim Richards poured into our lives your love and support and belief in us like you do so many around this world without any kind of requirement or expectation. The thought has gone through my mind many times, how many more times will they answer my calls, but you always do with encouragement, advice, and love. I hope this testimony brings joy to your hearts and the Safe Harbor staff and leaders. One of the things I've learned from our relationship is that all change is effortless if the change starts and comes from the heart. Most of my pastor friends around here say no matter what I preach I will turn it to the heart. I believe that is the help people need.

To Make Them Or Not To Make Them
I had a young married lady (without children) ask me the other day what my opinion is on "making" a child go to church. Should you or shouldn't you?
Oh boy. Don't get me started. Too late. I'm already started. The verdict: Make them.
But before you get riled up at me, hear me out. Church doesn't equal salvation. I get that. It doesn't guarantee that your child will forever be spared from the wiles of teenage lust and impulsiveness.
