Happy New Year, New Hope Leeward!

Thanks to all of you who joined us for our Christmas Eve services! We welcomed an excess of 4,000 people with 159 making first time decisions for Jesus Christ! I just love that our church is filled with saints who are passionate about Jesus and who are on fire to share Jesus with others. We hope that you had a wonderful Christmas Day with your family. Thanks for all of the positive feedback on our two Christmas Day devotionals.

Are you ready for 2012? We are just days away from the start of a new year filled with promise. Be sure to join us this weekend at New Hope Leeward as we talk about finishing off 2011 well so that we can launch strong into 2012! Remember we will NOT have any services on New Year's Eve (Saturday); however, we will have special service times on New Year's Day (Sunday) at 8:30 am, 10 am, 11:30 and 12:55 pm. This will allow you as well as our volunteers to sleep in on New Year's Day then join us at services to kick off the new year with our church family!

I'm currently in the Pacific Northwest at our annual family reunion with over five generations of Lwins! It's exciting to be with family here, but I'm also very excited to be back home in Hawaii next week to be a part of all that is in store for us! In fact, I can't wait to start a new message series on January 14th and 15th entitled, "UNSTUCK." Chances are you plan to make some new year's resolutions. This 7-week series will take your new year's resolutions and help you make long-lasting life changes in the area of fitness, health, finances, marriage, and more. Let's make 2012 your best year yet by breaking away from the patterns and challenges of your past in order to have a fresh start!

The Mayor is hosting the eighth annual Honolulu Prayer and Worship Service at Kawaiaha'o Church on January 10th from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. I have the honor to be one of the pastors who will share a prayer and our halau will be sharing a special song that evening. The event is FREE and open to public, so please join us as we stand firm in our faith mike_headshot1to pray for our leaders, for each other, and our state. Let's be a united church that will rise up and shine the light of Jesus in the nation we live today! God bless America!

Enjoy the last several days of the year and let's get ready for God to do something beyond our wildest imagination in 2012 in our lives, in our church, and in our world!

Happy New Year,
Pastor Mike Lwin
