Merry Christmas New Hope Leeward!
This is an awesome church! Our Project Hope gave students an opportunity to make shoeboxes for the homeless community of Waianae, Waipahu and Ewa Beach. The shoeboxes were filled with a number of goodies donated by the wonderful people in our church 'ohana and will be delivered this weekend. Thank you for serving as a reflection of Jesus' heart!
Final call for our Christmas musical is on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary. My family went to see this musical comedy,"7 Spirits of Christmas," and it was absolutely incredible! Don't miss it - you'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll hear the true message of Christmas!
A huge Mahalo to all our volunteers that helped out with our military ministry to help put together Christmas Care Packages to our soldiers deployed over seas. The packages are now on their way, and it's certainly an astounding way to send our love, support, and the spirit of Aloha to our fellow soldiers this holiday season. Thank you to all our military soldiers and family members for serving God and our country!
This might be a hard season for some of us due to the loss of a loved one, a deployed spouse, a recent divorce, or other life challenge. Just want to let you know that our New Hope Leeward 'ohana is here for you. May I encourage you to allow the Lord to bring peace and uplifting during this holiday season by being present at our Hope for the Holidays midweek service. Lift your spirit with worship, fellowship, testimonies, and an inspiring message from Linda Martin on Wednesday, December 21 from 7:00-8:30pm in the Mini Auditorium. Free childcare is available by reservation. RSVP to mylisac@newhopeleeward.orgor call 678-3778.
Education is certainly a value at New Hope Leeward. Our New Hope Christian School has just been approved for the Kamehameha School's Pauahi Keiki Scholars (PKS) scholarship program that provides need-based scholarships for students to attend non-KS preschools in Hawai'i. Preschool children three years of age and older attending or enrolling in participating PKS preschools may apply for PKS scholarship. This is great news for our school as it will allow for more opportunities at our school to raise a generation for Jesus Christ. Call the our school at 678-3776 for more details.
With all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, don't forget that we'll be having our Christmas Eve services themed "Light of the World" on Friday, Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 24 at 3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Our staff has gone above and beyond by preparing an amazing service to honor God at our best! Keiki Zone has tons of activities for the kids, too. There will be an interactive live Nativity scene with animals and a manger, and the keiki will be able to enjoy Christmas activities! This is a perfect time to invite a family member, friend, coworker or anyone and everyone to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
Keep in mind that we won't be having a Christmas Day service on Sunday, Dec. 25, but we do encourage you to worship at home with your families and just remember the real reason for the season. God loves it when his people glorify Him, and by taking time to reflect on His love and sacrifice even in the busyness of the holidays we can give Him the priceless gift of our worship.
Well, I'm stoked to be speaking this weekend as we talk about "Getting the Most Out of Christmas!" Hope you'll join me because if you're like me this busy Christmas season, we could use a little Holy Spirit break! Oh, and I hear that my daughter will be dancing for the first time ever at our services! Looking forward to seeing you.
Be Filled With Joy!
