Pastor's Corner - Dec 1st

Mele Kalikimaka New Hope Leeward,

Greetings from South Carolina!  hoku_grad1I'm writing to you from a cold, yet exciting visit here to the East Coast where I'm dreaming of the warm Hawaii weather!  Following a post-Thanksgiving visit with my parents in Washington D.C., Jeremiah and I traveled here to South Carolina to celebrate Hoku's graduation from Army Basic Training!  Hoku was praised for his leadership, team motivation, and overall solid integrity.  We are definitely proud of him!  He now heads to Arizona for AIT but should be home briefly for Christmas.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to warmth in Hawaii but we now head to St. Paul, Minnesota for a stop off at Bethel Seminary before returning to Hawaii with all of you!  Until then, we have an incredible leadership team at New Hope Leeward that is doing a super job in preparing our church for the Christmas season.  Last weekend KeAlii Becera, our Children's Director, shared a great message as we closed off our Unlimited Prayer series.  This weekend, Pastor Brandon Ahu, our FUSE Young Adults Pastor will be kicking off our holiday series, "Unwrapping the Christmas Classics!"  Be sure to invite friends to join us for services so that they may experience the real reason for the Christmas season!

December is an awesome month at New Hope Leeward.  Here are a few highlights to get you thrilled for this month:
    -  Operation Hope - (Dec 3-11) This Christmas, donate books to the Pac Rim Bible College in Yangon, Myanmar.  In an oppressed nation, you can help to build a better future and bring hope.
    -  Craft Fair - (Dec 10) - Don't miss out on our annual Craft Fair, a fantastic time for Christmas shopping and unique gifts. Vendors welcome, RSVP in advance - call 678-3778.
    -  Hope Outreach (Dec 11-21) - Partner with our Christian School to give shoe sized boxes of useful gifts and donations to our families at the New Hope West Shore campus.  Express your heart of compassion!
    -  Christmas Muscial (Dec 9,11,17,18) - Enjoy a mike_headshot1comically entertaining and meaningful performance about Christmas.  It's FREE, so bring the entire family!

Visit the Information Desk after service or our Web site for more details on how you can participate and be involved in our December events!

In the Spirit of Christmas!
