internshipThe National Center on Time and Learning (NCTL) is a leader on the frontlines of urban K-12 education reform promoting the simple but powerful notion that time matters for learning and that expanded learning time, well used, allows schools serving high concentrations of poor children to reach much higher academic achievement outcomes and enjoy a truly well-rounded education. Founded on the basic premise that the century-old school schedule is out of date in a highly competitive global society, NCTL is combining public policy, research, and technical assistance to fulfill its mission to expand and improve learning opportunities for children, particularly those living in poverty.

NCTL's vision is that in ten years at least one million children in high poverty communities will attend schools that have redesigned their school day to expand learning time to support academic improvement and offer a well-rounded education.
