Seasons greetings oh fabulous Buzz readers! I appreciate each and every one of you and wish you the very best for the coming year.
I can't believe the holidays are already here - if you need gift ideas, check out the downtown stores. Most are offering 20-50% off of EVERYTHING, so shop local whenever you can! Sadly, a few stores are closing for good including Coco & Company, The Pelican Loft and The Mizzen Mast (all were located in Villages by the Sea, Rehoboth). Coco has already closed, but the other two are offering great sale prices until everything is gone, (including the fixtures). I'm also bummed that Atlantic Books will be no more. Everything is on sale until they close their doors for the last time.
Restaurant roulette continues...I'm not sure I can keep up! Let's startwith new arrivals... Go Fish, the British Fish and Chip shop in downtown Rehoboth is opening a sister restaurant, Go Brit! in the space vacated by Deli 88 at the Coastal Plaza (Lewes); Pat's Pizza is coming to the former Lewes Five Guys space in Mariner Plaza (Lewes); Buffalo Wild Wings is going into the space being vacated by the Mill Outlet in the Light House Plaza (Rehoboth Beach); a new mom and pop deli is going into the space next to Poker at the Beach (and which plaza THAT's in, I cannot tell you!) Departures include Salt Air (Rehoboth), Seaside Thai, Ledo's, Deli 88, Barista Café, and M. Gallucio's.
Want to know if your favorite restaurant is closed for good or just for the season? Who's open on Christmas and New Years? Check out the Off-Season and Holiday specials list at The Rehoboth Foodie.
LeAnn H let me know about the sweet gift card deals being offered by several restaurants where you buy one gift card for $25 and get a second $25 gift card for free. I think FINS is offering this deal on Dec 9 (but please call to verify). If you purchase $500 in gift cards from Big Fish Grill, you get a $100 gift card for free.
As a real estate agent, one of my favorite "gift certificates" to give is from Rehoboth Main Street. It's good at over 100 restaurants, shops, galleries and hotels.
What's the big red barn across from Windswept Stables on Route 24? I checked with Jay, my local source for all things equestrian, and he told me it's a private indoor riding ring. Shades of Secretariat! It's BIIIIG!
Unique Boutique has opened just north of Surf Bagel. It's a large open space that features a variety of vendors selling arts, crafts, baked goods and more. 727-3313. There's a new Tupperware outlet next to Carter's in Tanger Bayside. They finally cleaned up the Valero station (as you enter downtown Rehoboth), but as of this writing, no new tenant. A new salon called Beach Waves opened next to the Food Lion at the Villages of Five Points (thanks Janet C).
