Marshalls is expanding! Located in the Pelican Shopping Center along with Superfresh and Staples, Marshalls is going to take over the Payless shoe store next door AND the space vacated by Bona Pizza (thanks Brittany D)

The Body Shop and Fitness Center is moving from the Boardwalk to First Street Station on Rehoboth Avenue. 226-0920 (thanks again Brittany D!)

The State of Delaware has purchased the former Wright Chrysler Jeep property on Route 1 and will use it as a DART bus depot/transfer station. I had heard Lowes wanted the property so they could finally have an entrance on Route 1 - guess that didn't happen.

Atlantic Books on Rehoboth Avenue is closing and there will be a t-shirt shop moving in. We'll still have the Atlantic Books next to Starbucks on Route 1 in the Harbor Square shopping center. 644-2800

Don't know if you had a chance to hit the sidewalk sales earlier this month - we started at in2soles (formerly Beach Feet Footwear) to check out their fresh and fancy footwear, then moved on to Sharee's to check out the booty from their latest NYC shopping spree. I got a great new ring - gotta love their bling! From there we went to see the new Biergarten at Purple Parrot. It's awesome with the tables in the sand, lots of fun little nooks to sit in and there was a DJ too! Very cool. You can now enter from Wilmington Avenue as well.

Hearing some nice reviews about Beebe's walk-in clinic at Kmart. Two Buzz readers wrote to say that the care was excellent and they were very pleased with the experience. No appointment necessary. 227-6231

A big ROAR to Nittany Lion Penn Staters! Apparently Timothy's has the Penn State hookup and will broadcast all the games. You can also add them to the list of free wifi spots. 227-3435

The Rehoboth Cafe Azafran is now open - went for dinner last night and went tapas crazy! The bruschetta with the grilled artichoke was one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten. They have lots of weekly specials like their Wednesday Tapas Happy Hour. Try the house red wine - yummy! On Baltimore Avenue 227-8100 (Hello to Holly!)

Hello!  In case we haven't met, my name is Deb Griffin and I'm a RealtorŪ living in Lewes. My team is The Jetty Group and we are part of the Maggio Shields Real Estate Cafe. I've been here full time for four years, and I love living at the beach! Every day I learn more about the area and its resources, so the Local Buzz was created as a way to share information with newer Sussex visitors and residents like myself.  Enjoy!

I donate a portion of my commissions to Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill shelter here in Sussex County.

Save the Milton Theatre!

The shows go on at the Milton Theatre through Saturday, October 23 as the SAVE THE MILTON THEATRE campaign gets into full swing. The plan is to raise enough money to purchase the Milton Theatre outright from the mortgage lender who purchased it at the sheriff's sale. Want to help? Call 684-3400
