 One Client Says . . .

After hearing about this program, I knew that it was the next step that I needed to take in order to gain control over a life that had been dominated by pleasing others coupled with an over-abundance of self-criticism.  I knew everything about taking care of others but nothing about taking care of my own needs or asking for what I needed from others.  I learned how to "selfishly" put myself first, how to make realistic goals with achievable and measurable outcomes and how to look at my dreams and desires in a new way.  As a result, I am more confident and have a greater sense of peace about my present and future.  Fran is the best and I thank her for guiding me through the process of moving closer to the person that I want to be with the knowledge that the choices that I make for my life are meant to be self-sustaining, nurturing and fulfilling.  The journey isn't over, and I know it, but at least I am now on the right road.

How Do You Eat an Elephant?

This was the question my very wise mother would ask  upon hearing my complaints about all the work required for the upcoming school project or weekly household chores, and it's a question I still ask myself today.

Whether facing job lay-offs, an empty nest or entering the job market for the first time, getting started moving forward in a new phase of our life can seem a bit overwhelming - like the prospect of eating an elephant!

Here's one step to get you started.  Review your whole life -accomplishments, values, qualities, jobs, skills, and talents - starting with childhood and ending with today. Write your words and phrases on index cards - if you think hard enough, you'll be able to come up with at least 50 or more!  Once written, every day for the next two weeks, spread out your index cards and have a look at the history of your life.  What do you see?  What jumps out at you as something that you truly value?  What's something you can use to help you move forward into this new phase of your life?  How will you use it?  When will you start?

So, how DO you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time!

Send me an email and let me know how it goes.
