Ready to Change Your Life?
If you're like most of us, you've started out the new year with a few resolutions.  Maybe you've resolved to develop more meaningful relationships, transition to a new career, lose weight, reduce stress or live a balanced and fulfilling life of purpose.  Whatever your goal, you'll want to begin by taking charge of your life, and to do that more effectively, you'll need to:

1)  Commit to the changes you want to make
Take some time to really think about what you want to accomplish, and determine what kind of support is required to help you reach your goals. Write it all down.  Then, take the first step, and each day keep it going.  Remember, if you're going to change your life, you're going to have to change what you're doing - not just today, but everyday.  You're in it for the long haul, so put in the effort today, tomorrow and all the tomorrows after that.

2)  Believe that you can.
Is it really possible the make significant life changes without a belief in yourself?  My guess is "No".  If you find yourself struggling here, stand in front of the mirror each morning and say ten times to yourself, "You Can Do It!"

3)  Take responsibility for your actions.
Stop blaming and start choosing.  The newest research on happiness tells us that 40% of our happiness level is related to the many choices we make everyday - the thoughts we choose and the actions we do.  So, stop the "They made me do it" and "She made me mad."  Start with "I choose to . . . "

4)  Be willling to fail.
Making mistakes is how we learn.  Did you know that Babe Ruth held the record for both home runs AND strike-outs?  Accept your mistakes and learn from them.  Then, ask yourself, "How will I do things differently, tomorrow?"

5) Work hard, even when you don't want to.
We all have days when we'd just rather stay in bed and not face the day.  Or, maybe you have days when you find yourself going back to your old ways.  Don't worry - this happens. It's not the end of the world, and it doesn't mean you won't ever reach your goals.  It's a temporary set-back, so pick yourself up and get going again!

6) Congratulate yourself on your hard work and celebrate the changes you've made.
Share your successes with others. You may feel shy about doing this at first - we don't seem to easily take credit for our accomplishments.  But, give it a shot.  I bet there are lots of people ready to give you a pat on the back for the positive changes you're making in your life.

7)  Don't Ever, Ever, Ever Give Up.
Thomas Edison conducted over 10,000 experiments before his light bulb was a success. All you have to remember is that tomorrow is a new day, and if my plan for change isn't working today, I can change the plan and start fresh tomorrow.

And, if you believe that you can more easily make the life changes you want with the support of group or private one-on-one coaching, please email me or give me a call at 763-1888 ext. 17.  I'd love to help you create the life you truly want!

Fran Teams Up with Shawn Manning
Ready for the New You in 2009??????
Losing weight can be a struggle, and keeping it off can feel like a losing battle. We know that exercise and
nutrition go hand in hand when losing pounds as well as maintaining a healthy weight.  What we didn't know is how important personal coaching can be to the long-term success of any exercise and diet program.  According to a large clinical trial sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, personal coaching proved the most beneficial by the end of the 2.5 year study.  This study, the largest and longest-lasting trial to date testing different strategies for weight loss maintenance, compared the success rate of three approaches: personal coaching; an interactive web-based program; and self-directed maintenance.

Personal coaching was the winner!

If personal coaching is so great for weight-loss maintenance, it's probably even better during the first few months when losing weight can seem like an up-hill battle.  That's why Shawn Manning and I have teamed up to offer the best-ever weight-loss and fitness program around. Shawn's the fitness guru and I'm the person to help you keep your head on straight.  As a coach, I know how to support you during the tough times - I've got the coaching skills, but I've also been there and understand your struggle. In the last 6 months - just since I've been working with Shawn - I've lost twenty pounds!  And, I've dropped two dress sizes!  I know your resistance to getting started - I remember how hard those first few weeks were, and now, as I'm winding down to my maintenance level, I also understand how easy it can be to lapse back into bad habits.

2009 is here.  Are you ready to make 2009 the year of change?  Shawn and I are here to help.  Contact Fran or Shawn today and make a real difference in the quality of your life!

Dedicated to supporting clients who want more success in life and relationships.

Sincerely,

Fran
