To keep a knit or bias hem from stretching out of shape as it is sewn, stabilize it with a thread sewn into the hem. Insert a regular sewing thread into the hole on the front of the #39 foot, then begin stitching the hem. Hold the thread taut to prevent the fabric from stretching. When the stitching is complete, remove the stabilizing thread!
