Happy Summer!
I wanted to wish you all a very safe and happy start to the summer! Be sure to include lots of 'me' time and let the sunshine fill your body and soul. Relax, read some books and enjoy some free time. You know how fast the summer will go by!
Is anyone going to be setting up for a wedding, baby shower, 4th of July party or just a random summer party this year? I read an article the other day that stated that over 80% of people polled said that their favorite party to attend is a backyard outdoor barbecue. Under decorating hints and tips this month, I have included a few ideas and pictures of ideas to make your outdoor party look fabulous for very little effort or cost.
I am still very busy with color consultations. Thanks to my color blog, I have been getting a lot of business doing online color and decorating consults. Clients send in two to three pictures of the room they need color help with and I email color suggestions to sample until we get the paint color perfect. For more information, click here.
I love working with my 11 x 14' color paint sample boards which are great to immediately see if the color is going to work in the room. These sample boards are an easy way to cover more wall-space with a sample, making more of an impression right away!

Outdoor Entertaining
Simple is the key word:
Make the menu simple:
Your guests will enjoy whatever you put out in front of them to eat! Grilling is tasty, but make sure that you help keep the chef from having too complicated of meals. A few cold salads made ahead, good bread and cheese and a platter of fruit are easy and inexpensive menu choices for entertaining.
