Note from Kelly
Hello again my decorating friends!
Happy Spring! Now is the time we can become hopeful for those long, warmer days. Throw open the windows, get in a good house cleaning and get ready to play outside. I wrote some ideas and suggestions below in the Decorating Tips section to help you bring in the Spring.
A friend gave me a great website today featuring comforters designed by Jessica McClintook plus many others: The Home Decorating Company. I am looking to renew my master bedroom a bit. I have had the same comforter (beautiful but expensive) on my bed for about six years now. Time to shake it up a little. I do not want to get into painting or window treatments or rugs. I think just putting a new cover on the bed will update and refresh the room. I might look for more summery colors and textures and change it back in the winter. I will have to just wait and see what I find!
Until Next Time-
Happy Decorating!

Decorating Tips
Just a couple quick ideas for easy, beautiful, inexpensive decorating:
Pillows are the easiest, quickest and least expensive way to introduce a new season into your home. Try to find soft cotton or satiny textures in light colors colors such as those on the right.
You can lighten up your bedroom look with lighter bed coverings and summer colored pillows. Change out your throws with softer, plush materials.
In your kitchen and dining room, it is easy to refresh the appearance using table linens and napkins in Spring and Summer colors.

Another trick I like to do each season, is on my entryway table, I change the accessories and flower/silk flower arrangement according to the different holidays and seasons.
Golden Yellow: Classic Combo
Greet guests with a cheery welcome by splashing your entryway in warm golden tones. The subtle wall color paired with the traditional bench creates a timeless look.
Designer Barry Dixon's Color Tip: "Be wary of the strongest yellow. It's going to intensify when it's in a room, especially when the sun shines on it. If you're leaning toward the brightest yellow on a paint chip, go one shade down. For less impact, try an autumnal shade, such as wheat, honey, or amber."
A few lighter yellow colors I would suggest for an entryway are Benjamin Moore HC-12 Concord Ivory, BM 297 Golden Honey and BM 289 Pale Moon.
Hope this helped give you ideas and suggestions to
welcome in the Spring!
