Hello again my decorating friends!
Another cold winter month down. Only 47 days until Spring!  (As I am writing this, it is snowing.)
I must confess- I am so hooked on reading all of the blogspots posted out there on the world wide web! There is so much information on every subject you could think of. Then you read that blog and you go to the author's favorites- there are another 10 blogs to read! Posts relating to interior design, colour, outdoor landscaping, accessories, artwork, food and I even linked to one today called FU Penquins. Hilarious. I enjoy writing my blog, there are so many subjects I already want to cover. My page needs help with the design, but it is getting there. I promise to add some of my favorites on my blog post for you to enjoy at Kelly's Decorating Blog. There is a lot of information to read and use, the only request all blogspots ask is to please leave a comment on their post.
Below, I have included before and after photos of a recent paint consultation. It is the same home as the pictures I shared with you last month of her living and dining room. Below is pictures of her newly redecorated bedroom. Enjoy!

Decorating Tips
Just a couple quick ideas for easy, beautiful, inexpensive decorating:
Here is a test you can try to see if your pillows are too old. Fluff your pillow well, then fold it in half. If the down and feathers still retain their natural ability to loft, the pillow should unfold itself. If not, it may be time for a new pillow.
"A light color will never come to life in a dark room but a rich, deep color can make a dim, somber space feel warm and luminous - even though it receives no natural light."

Painting a dark room with pale colors simply accentuates the shadows in a space. Therefore, pale colors [or whites] can really only be enjoyed with a lot of natural light, as in the images shown here:
Pale colors and beiges seem to look dingy without the natural sunlight in a room. Darker, richer colors work best in a room with low natural lighting.
These photos are from a client's home in Cumberland, RI. We used many of her own furnishings which kept the costs down. She loved her fabric on her window treatments, so we had them 'recycled' for a different look. The color she chose for the walls in the bedroom was Benjamin Moore # 823 Steel Blue. The ceiling was painted Benjamin Moore # 821 Blue Ice. Just changing around her artwork and accessories made a big difference also.
