Note from Kelly
Hello again my decorating friends! As the days grow shorter and the beautiful Fall weather is upon us, many begin to plan their indoor projects for the year. With the economy still off kilter, I still believe just putting paint colors on your wall is the easiest, least expensive way to update and refresh any room. This month I have listed a few of my favorite painting hints and tips of the last year as well as other favorites under this months Decorating Tips. I hope you enjoy. I am attaching a link for you to fill out a survey for Interior Style ReDesign's newsletter. Please take a couple minutes to fill out for me so that I can write more that you wish to see in newsletter. I really appreciate it! Newsletter Survey

Decorating Tips
Just a couple quick ideas for easy, beautiful, inexpensive decorating:
- The goal of the wall color is finding the most neutral shade that goes with everything you own and love, that also works as a background.
- A neutral paint shade does not have to just be white or beige.
- Fabric provides the perfect starting point for creating a color scheme. It's an almost foolproof way to ensure you will love the colors in your room.
- Fresh fruit, all the same color, displayed in bowls is also a pretty accent piece. Granny Smith apples, limes, lemons, cranberries, oranges, etc. Or add fresh greens with the fruit in a basket as a centerpiece.
- To help create balance and scale, use symmetry- pairs of pictures, sconces, lamps, chairs, etc.
- Try to edit your furnishing when redesigning. Sometimes you need to take something away rather than add.
- What is the best view in your room? Rearrange your furniture so that you can enjoy it. Pull a chair or bench next to window and suddenly it's your favorite place to sit and relax.
- A large accessory can add punch to an otherwise dull room. Consider a large print, painting or large colorful rug to use as a great focal piece in your room.
- If privacy is not an issue in your bathroom, a valance is a perfect solution to bring color, softness and a finished look to windows.
