Note from Kelly
Hola again my decorating friends! I hope you are enjoying the summer. I vacationed in Todos Santos, Mexico. We stayed in a small Mexican village that was filled with artists and craftsman. The artists tend to use a lot of bright, vibrant colors which I love. I think because everything is so dusty and the landscape is so beige, the artists try to use color in their artwork as well as front doors, concrete walls, etc. Very, very beautiful. I included some of my vacation pictures. The horses were wild running down the beach with a baby colt! The sunset was something we looked forward to every night it was so beautiful.

During the month of September when everyone starts to think of updating and refreshing the inside of their home, IS ReDesign will be collecting names for a drawing of a $50.00 gift certificate from Home Depot. To enter, click here- to enter your name and email address, and three names and email addresses of your friends or family who would be interested in receiving IS ReDesign's monthly newsletter. Drawing will be held October 5, 2009. Good Luck! Also, I included more websites below that I thought you would be interested in, especially the decorating blog.
Be well, be happy.
Until next time-Happy Decorating! Kelly |

Decorating Tips
Just a couple quick ideas for easy, beautiful, inexpensive decorating:
- Try using brown rice on the bottom of a glass vase to display silk flowers or branches. Rice is very inexpensive and easy to find in the supermarket. I have always found rice to be long lasting, very original and it looks really great! Another idea I have tried is sand, both colored sand and palin beige sand.
-
In a bedroom, the bed is the focal point of the room. An upholstered headboard makes a statement and offers limitless opportunities for design. Another way to really add drama to the bedroom is to paint the wall behind your headboard a different color than the rest of the walls. With this accent color, the bed is highlighted beautifully.

- Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it is so complicated." Paul Rand 1997
- Looking to find a place by the window to read and relax? You can easily make a window seat for a favorite window by building a plywood box and painting. You can also use molding to add more detail if you wish. Add a cushion and pretty pillows, and you'll have a new spot to curl up and read.
