A Must Read:
Very Classy
by Derek Blasberg
In a day where 'inappropriate' behavior is what gets attention, this book is a refreshing and funny 'guide' on manners. It is a must read and makes a wonderful gift. | | |
Quote of the Month:
"It's the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me."

EXTRAordinary....
I turn 50 this month and I say it with a tiny bit of surprise. I am surprised how quickly it came. I remember when I was a kid, my mother would talk of how quickly time flies and I did not really get it. I did not think about time so much. I am not fixated on it now, but I totally get how it flies! It actually makes a sound...whoosh.
A year goes by in a nanosecond. The awareness of the nanosecond does not send me spinning in fear of time or age. It encourages me to make conscious decisions to treat each and every moment as precious; to consider it a challenge to live more courageously with the intention of fabulous. Who are we to live otherwise? When we have the wonderful gift of choice, why choose to live below our 'fabulous' line? We all have one. Are you living below yours?
Why not live with the intention of making a difference with the kind of excitement that makes you wake up with a start because you have ideas, made a great decision or releasing a bond that has been holding you back. My good friend, Liz Plaster says "to live with your hair on fire." Why not live with the intent of EXTRA, using up each moment fully and packing it with wisdom, joy and discovery.
I am turning 50 this month and I welcome it with open arms. I will push myself to do things I have never done and enjoy the edgy feel of the unknown. I will adopt the spirit of a child and believe what I should not. Fall, but wipe the dirt out of by scraped knee and get back up. I will dare to be EXTRAordinary. Are you with me?

FREE Circle of Care Workshop! Is it possible to care too much for the occasion? Is it possible to bring so much energy to a discussion or debate that the right solution gets lost in the drama of the 'convincing?' Do you bring the same level of energy to things that really matter to you as those you could really just let go? I am all about caring, but there is a point where caring too much can cause you to create unnecessary angst for yourself and others. Caring is a good thing, but it can be done in degrees to preserve your sanity, your marriage or your job. When: January 7th Where: New Britain Public Library, Community Room Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm RSVP: by December 30th, 860.594.8598 |
