!!Hola from Espana!!
As most of you know, Michael and I just got back from our trip to Spain this week. We have been spending the past few days trying to get adjusted back to the states and boy, it's been a challenge because of the 8 hour time difference! However, we are feeling much more grounded today (after 2 or so days of being in "la la land") and are ready to get back into the swing of things!
However, before I begin talking about what Fall is going to bring for Divine Healing Aspirations, I would love to share certain highlights of Michael and I's trip.
We landed in
Barcelona last Wednesday and spent the two days we were there exploring "The Ramblas" (like the Fisherman's Wharf of San Francisco), the shops, certain areas of the city, the beach, the AMAZING market and we came to a unanimous conclusion - Barcelona is HUGE! Michael and I described it as the "New York" of Spain. That city is so large, so ALIVE and buzzing with energy! We literally slept a few hours while we were in Barcelona and I think that it was to our advantage because that was the only way we could keep up with the Spaniards!
We also enjoyed many different types of yummy tapas and Spanish cuisine..yes, Michael was in heaven as I!
Then after a few days exploring the big city, we were off to the
Balearic Islands - Ibiza. As the small plane took us over the Mediterranean sea to the long-awaited island I have been longing to see and visit, we got to view the entire island from the airplane and man..what a view we got! We could see the entire island - it was like we had our own private ride to view the island.
To sum it up quickly, we got in and to our hotel - it was overlooking the sea - breathtaking. We ended up renting a scooter and got to travel and explore most of the island which was our favorite part of the trip. The beaches were magnificent, the water was clear and full of love, the people were laid back, the shops and fashion were inspiring, the landscape was very diverse and our room was magnificent..Ibiza was the favorite part of our trip.
The island is notorious for it's reputation of being the "party island" with all the clubs, yet we went there in the "off season", so all the clubs and most of the city was closed. We were able to truly explore the island rather than the tourist attraction. We loved it!
The last part of our trip we landed back in Barcelona for one day. By this point, after all the walking, touring, eating, playing, etc., we were exhausted. The next say we flew out so we decided to walk a little more, then go back to our pension (a better version of a hostel) and sleep. We slept for 12 hours until we had to leave for our flight the next day!
We had a marvelous time and are even more inspired to travel more. This world is so BIG, yet so small..there is so much and so many to connect to. I got humbled quite a bit along my travels in Spain - it was a heart warming and enlightening experience!
